The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has taken a calculated retaliatory swipe akin to a professional tutorial at the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN).

This is in response to a recently released open petition to President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria bordering on rather prejudicial, evidently unfounded claims against ARCON, the globally reputed, resilient regulatory agency saddled with official gatekeeping of advertising activities for sanitised practices of global standards in Nigeria.

ARCON discharged a meticulously worded press statement, debunking the hasty claims that look unfact-checked by ADVAN in the latter’s widely publicised open letter to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

One of the ADVAN’s claims in contention borders on its assertion that companies have been fleeing Nigeria as a direct result of ARCON’s sectorial reforms.

The strongly worded statement as signed by ARCON’s Director-General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, FCA, fnimn, frpa, described ADVAN’s letter, which was signed by the association’s Board of Trustees and addressed directly to the Presidency,  as a calculated campaign of “misinformation, disinformation, and manipulation” targeting the halt of the ongoing industry reforms by resilient, change-focused ARCON which  are in line with the the Federal Government’s Policy the Renewed Hope Agenda led by President Bola Tinubu.
