ATvFJ Makes Case For Late Bamise

 The African Television Founda­tion for Justice (ATvFJ) has on behalf of the Ayanwola family, called on well-meaning Nige­rians and the governments, to seek for justice for the murder of their daughter, Bamise.

According to the Foundation, it has been over two years since the murder of Bamise Anyan­wola inside a Lagos State BRT bus and yet, no justice has been served.

The BRT Bus in which Bam­ise was raped and murdered in by the driver, the Foundation noted, had since then been functioning and there had been no toxicology result ever since, hence the cry for justice.

“The Lagos State government is yet to tell us what happened to her. The culprits are still not judged yet. The family is still in pains. The cry for justice is still heard all around the streets. We want justice now,” the Founda­tion stated.

Larry Omodia, CEO of AT­vFJ, disclosed that a sister to the late Bamise Anyawola by name Elizabeth Anyawola, paid a visit to their office, relating that they needed the Lagos State govern­ment to respond to some salient questions agitating the minds of members of their family.

It added: “These questions, Elizabeth disclosed, are thus: ‘Some witnesses said there was an SUV that accompanied the very luxurious bus our sis­ter was said to have boarded, please, what was the mission of the SUV?

“We believe that those who boarded the vehicle with our sister were coworkers with the driver. But a statement by the governor indicated that as at the time of the incidence, BRT ser­vices had closed and the driver had no business picking anyone. The question is, why did he pick her and others who later board­ed the vehicle?

“On getting to the LBSL of­fice few days after the demise of our late sister, we were made to understand that all LBSL buses are equipped with CCTv devic­es. Please we want the transport company to play footage of what transpired in the vehicle that day to the world.

“We were made to under­stand that the result of the specimen collected on our late sister for analysis oversea will help in carrying out investiga­tion on what led to her death. Its been more than 24 months ever since, we are yet to get any report from them.

“Equally, we want the man­agement of LBLS to further probe the operations of their buses in Lagos State, to nib fu­ture occurrences.”

The family is also calling on the then Commissioner for Transportation, under whose jurisdiction the BRT buses op­erate, to give them an explana­tion on what led to the death of their sister.
