Director of Operations/Chief Operating Officer of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Segun Kuteyi, has highlighted his company’s over 60-year heritage as a key investor and one of the largest oil and gas producers in Nigeria.

He spoke while welcoming the Executive Vice President (EVP) Upstream, of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Udobong Ntia to its Escravos operations base for an official visit that underscored the strategic import of Chevron’s role in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

“Our business spans exploration, production, gas development, and deepwater operations—including the Agbami Field, one of Nigeria’s largest deepwater discoveries. At the core of our business is the Chevron Way, which outlines our core beliefs, values, and purpose: delivering affordable, reliable, and ever cleaner energy; promoting human ingenuity to solve energy challenges; and operating with trust, integrity, and accountability,” Segun noted.

During the visit, the EVP was briefed on Chevron’s integrated operations, which include conventional assets both onshore and offshore, the Escravos Gas Plant (EGP), and the Escravos Gas-to-Liquids (EGTL) facility—one of only five such plants globally.

The presentation covered major accomplishments, business planning, production forecasts, operational challenges, and Chevron’s innovative approaches to asset integrity and cost management, Oduselu Olusoga, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Chevron Nigeria and Mid Africa Region, said in a statement on Thursday.

The EVP commended Chevron’s partnership with local communities, which has enabled the company to sustain its social licence to operate in regions where other international operators have exited due to operational challenges.

He also lauded Chevron’s innovative use of technology, particularly the deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for asset monitoring and encouraged continued collaboration among industry stakeholders.
