The Federal government has flagged off the construction of section two of the Lagos -Badagry coastal highway project starting from Lekki Deep Seaport which is the border between Lagos and Ogun State.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi flagged off this when he led officials on an inspection tour of ongoing works on Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway and other road projects on the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Dangote Tax Credit Route, Eleko,among other axis.
Umahi who promised that each section would be given desired attention said about ten billion naira had so far been paid as compensation to owners of structures affected by the rights of way of the Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway project.
He also said the construction of flyovers would commence first week of July and that the Federal Executive Council had given approval for the construction of the fifty six kilometres Sokoto-Badagry road.
Umahi who also inspected the Third Mainland Bridge said eighty percent of the road projects flagged off since the inception of the present administration on May twenty nine, 2023 had been completed.
Also speaking the Deputy Chief Whip and member, Senate Committee on Works, Peter Nwebonyi commended President Bola Tinubuโs administration for a job weldone on ongoing works on road projects across the country and the completion of about three hundred and thirty road infrastructure since the Inception of his tenure
