….Hails Octopus Force Unit Commander
The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olatunji Disu has tasked officers of the Command to go all out for criminal elements in the state.
Disu gave the charge after commissioning a one storey security post built by the C4i Octopus Strike Force Unit in Port Harcourt.
The CP reaffirmed his commitment in ensuring a crime-free and peaceful Rivers State in line with the mandate of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Igbetokun.
He said, “I know its not easy to catch one armed robber, and kidnapper but keep on tracking and catching them everyday.”
The Rivers Police Chief who was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Adepoju Gbenga, Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration and Finance, DCP Samuel Erale, Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko and other senior officers, commended the Octopus Strike Force unit Commander
for his efforts in fighting crime.
Disu also hailed the Commander of the Octopus Strike Force unit and the community leaders for initiating and completing the project.

“I thank everybody who contributed in making the project a dream come through.
“I also thank the community and the Chief who has accommodated us all this while. Continue to support the Nigeria Police.”
Earlier, the Commander of Octopus, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Juliana Wealth in his welcome address, stated that he is proud to witness the culmination of their hard work and dedication in enhancing the security infrastructure in the command.
CSP Wealth disclosed that the new facilities will not only improve their operational capabilities, but also provide a more secure environment for officers and the society.
In his vote of thanks, the Second in Command (2iC), Octopus Strike Force Unit, SP Kenneth Agbo thanked the CP and members of his management team for gracing the event.
SP Agbo assured the Commissioner of Police that the unit will not let him down adding that they will continue to arrest criminals.
Speaking, Paramount Ruler of RumuIbekwe Community in Rebisi kingdom, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt, Chief Wilson Ogbonda Amadi said, “The presence of Octopus Strike Unit of the Rivers State Police Command has drastically reduced crime and criminality in the area. So it’s a good thing for us.
“We want to sincerely commend the Commander, he is doing a good job, I will not also fail to thank the Commissioner of Police who has in a very short time proved to Rivers people, especially those of us in this part of the town that we can sleep with our two eyes closed.
“I urge him and his team not rest on their achievements but continue to do their best.”
Highpoints of the event was the official commissioning of the one storey security post and inspection of new cells in the facility by the CP which was also constructed by the Octopus Unit.
