Aminu Datti Ahmad assumed office on Monday as the new Commandant of the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Ahmad succeeded Jamilu Abdu Indabawa.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Commandโs Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, made available to PUNCH on Tuesday in Katsina.
In his remarks, the outgoing Commandant, Indabawa, expressed gratitude to Almighty God and thanked the officers and men of the Command for the immense support they had extended to him during his tenure.
He also urged the personnel to extend the same support and cooperation to the new Commandant and called for greater commitment and dedication in carrying out the Corpsโ mandate.
The statement read: โIn his address, CC Datti Ahmad extolled the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, for his commitment and leadership in ensuring the fulfilment of the Corpsโ vision, mission, and mandates as enacted by law.
โThe State Commandant further assured His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, CON, and the good people of the state of his unwavering commitment to ensuring adequate security, the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, school safety, improved disaster and crisis management, among others.โ
The statement also revealed that the new State Commandant hails from Gwale in Kano State.
Ahmad attended Jarkasa Special Primary School and Government Secondary School, Gwale, for his secondary education.
The statement added, โThe hardworking and dedicated senior officer proceeded to the prestigious Bayero University, Kano, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (Combined Honours) in Mass Communication and Hausa between 1996 and 1999. He also obtained a Masterโs Degree in Crime Management, Prevention, and Control in 2005.โ
