A former Kano Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has commiserated with former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, over the death of his wife, Hadiza Jega.
In a condolence message on his Facebook page on Monday, Kwankwaso described the late Hadiza as a woman of virtue and dignity whose life impacted many beyond her immediate family.
“I extend my deepest condolences to Professor Attahiru Jega and his entire family on the painful passing of his beloved wife, Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega,” he said.
He added, “Hajiya Hadiza was a woman of virtue, dignity, and graceful motherhood. Her life was a blessing not only to her family but to all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and strength.”
Kwankwaso prayed for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family.
“May Almighty Allah grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus, forgive her shortcomings. May He also grant Professor Jega and the entire family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this loss. Ameen,” he said.
Bayero University Kano had earlier announced the death of Hadiza Jega in a statement on Sunday.
