Last week, I had the privilege of speaking at the National Bamboo Development Policy Workshop in Abuja on “MSME and Grassroots Readiness.”
At the Community Development Center for Bamboo and Rattan, our focus is simple: policy must work on the ground.
We addressed key realities facing MSMEs:
•Policy ambiguity
•Quality gaps
•Insecure cultivation rights
•Financing mismatched to crop cycles
•Need for sustainable feedstock as demand grows.
Bamboo holds real economic potential for Nigeria, but clarity, coordination, and commercialization bridges are critical for small players to scale sustainably.
