
Nigeria’s chief of defence staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has deployed contingent of soldiers to the troubled Augie local government where no fewer than 17 people from Mera village were killed by the new terrorist group known as lakurawa.
The massive deployment was sequel to a save our soul message from Kebbi governor, Dr Nasir Idris for immediate support to stop the spread and carnage by the new terrorist group.
Earlier, the troops with armoured tanks and lethal weapons on arrival met with the deputy governor of Kebbi state, Senator Umar Tafida before heading to Mera were they immediately swung into action and rescued all the rustled cows abandoned by the armed group due the military high fire power.
According to the media aid to the governor, on Communication and strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, the deployment is inevitable as the new armed groups are making life unbearable to the rural populace who are citizens of Kebbi state ” the governor in his oath pledged to guarantee the security of lives and property of people of Kebbi state wherever they are hence the reason to seek the central government help to stem terrorism in all parts of the state”.
Recall that, the new armed group, recently attacked Mera village under Augie local government area of Kebbi state killing 17 people and displaced many in the latest seige.
