The National Space Research and Development Agency has partnered with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations on capacity-building initiatives in public relations.
This collaboration was highlighted during a recent courtesy visit by the NIPR Abuja chapter to NASRDAโs headquarters.
NASRDAโs Director of Media and Corporate Communications, Dr Felix Ale, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
NASRDAโs Director General, Dr Matthew Adepoju, commended NIPR for its unwavering commitment to professionalism and excellence, emphasising the pivotal role that public relations play in fostering national development.
โThe noble roles and contributions of NIPR members are crucial for the growth and development of our dear nation,โ Adepoju stated.
During the visit, Adepoju welcomed the delegation and reiterated the importance of high-quality public relations services in all sectors.
โWe must continue to deliver top-notch services,โ he urged, encouraging public relations professionals to persevere in their efforts to enhance communication strategies across the country.
The delegation, led by Mr Edward Adebanjo, expressed gratitude for the warm reception.
Adebanjo conveyed their primary purpose for the visit: to formally invite Adepoju to chair the upcoming 2024 Annual Conference and General Meeting of NIPR, set for November 2024.
โThe theme of this yearโs conference, โLeadership and Economic Transformation,โ will delve into the critical relationship between effective leadership and economic growth,โ he explained.
Adebanjo also highlighted the selection of Adepoju as chairman, noting, โThis choice recognises his transformative leadership and dedication to socio-economic advancement.โ
In a further display of commitment to professional development, Ale announced a new initiative to train all Media and Corporate Communications staff at NASRDA, aimed for implementation next year.
He hinted that this training will also include their induction as accredited members of NIPR.
โThis gesture is unprecedented in the history of NASRDA and is designed to enhance the productivity and professional development of our staff,โ Ale remarked.
He expressed his appreciation to Adepoju for championing this initiative.
He added, โThis partnership between NASRDA and NIPR marks a pivotal step towards enhancing the quality of public relations practices within the space agency, ultimately contributing to the broader goal of national development.โ
