LAGOS – The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed Air Peace to reduce its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet.

A statement by the NCAA, said that Capt. Chris Najomo, the Director-General Civil Aviation, gave the order on Friday in Abuja following the series of flight delay complaints lodged against the carrier by its customers.

Najomo also directed the airline to as a matter of urgency improve its domestic operations owing to complaints of lingering flight delays and cancellations by the travelling public.

The statement hinted that after a heated argument between the representatives of Air Peace and the NCAA, the airline acknowledged that it had some challenges with its operating aircraft.

But, argued that this was not unusual in the aviation sector.

The airline, however, assured that it was working round the clock to fix the challenges.

The statement added: “The DGCA asserted that while the NCAA will continue to support the airlines, the operators must comply with the regulations and global best practices.

“Capt. Najomo warned that the NCAA is increasing its monitoring of flight operations.”
