The National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) has distributed relief items to victims of recent banditry attacks in communities in Ondo State.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of NEMA, Mrs Zubaida Umar, represented by  Adeoti Kemisola, sympathized with the affected persons. 

She reassured the victims of the Agency’s commitment to its mandate in providing timely and effective disaster response. 

According to her, there is a need for the Government, especially at the grassroots, to embark on radical sensitization and initiate policies to build the resilience of Communities in combating weather-related disasters.

 In his remarks, Senator Olayide Emmanuel appreciated the Federal Government for the timely response. 

He stated that the items will  go along way to ameliorate the effect of the attacks on the victims.

Some items distributed included Items distributed include: rice, garri seasoning cube, spaghetti and tomato paste

NEMA Ado-Ekiti Operations Office, in collaboration with Senator Ipinsagba Olayide Emmanuel, distributed relief materials to the affected persons in the Ondo North Senatorial District of the area.
