The Rodel Empowerment Foundation has set aside Saturday, November 26 to put smiles on the faces of selected widows in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as they receive cash gifts.
The programme; The Widows’ Empowerment Project”, is themed “Make the Widows Smile 2022”.
According to the Managing Director of the REF, Mrs Victoria Onu, the foundation is committed to alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable in Nigeria.
“Rodel Empowerment Foundation is a non-governmental organisation committed to alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable people in Nigeria. We are also committed to a pragmatic intervention in the plight of the downtrodden,” she said.
About the Widows Empowerment Project, Onu said, “Our goal is to select widows on the lowest rung of the social ladder in Bwari, Abuja. These women are indigent and may have been neglected by the society.
“Ours is to put wide smiles on their faces with the cash gifts. We hope that some could use the funds to start a petty trade or commit to things that would make life easier for themselves”.
