The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended two individuals linked to the vandalism and theft of government assets worth millions at ongoing project sites.
This was contained in a statement issued by the commandโs Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil on Friday.
Wakil stated, โThe suspects, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed Inuwa, 26 truck driver, and Ukasha Abdulmalik, 17 resident of Karofin Madaki, were caught red-handed on Thursday loading a stolen concrete cave belonging to Bauchi state government.
โThis operation was spearheaded by SP David Silas, who oversees the Commandโs Works Department and in conjunction with Bauchi State Ministry of Works.โ
Wakil added that Ibrahim, who is the principal suspect, claimed he purchased the stolen concrete caves for an astonishing price of โฆ350 each from two unidentified individuals along Emirโs Drive, Bauchi.
The PPRO revealed that the police are actively pursuing the other suspects involved in this crime and are committed to bringing them to justice.
He added that the truck and the stolen concrete caves have been recovered as exhibits.
