United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has announced the appointment of Professor Madubuko Tochukwu Victor as a Director on its Board, with effect from January 1, 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening the airline’s corporate governance and supporting its strategic expansion drive.
The appointment was approved at the airline’s Extraordinary General Meeting held on December 30, 2025.
According to the management of United Nigeria Airlines, the decision reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to deepening leadership capacity at the board level while positioning the airline for sustained growth in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive aviation sector.
Prof. Madubuko is described as a seasoned global executive with over two decades of experience spanning entrepreneurship, international business, education and public service.
His professional background cuts across multiple continents, bringing a wealth of international and cross-cultural expertise to the UNA Board.
He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Chilanna Holdings LLC, based in Miami, United States. He is also the Chairman of The Moonshine Contractors Limited and the Managing Partner of CareerNation, a United States-based human capital consulting firm with operations across several states.
Through these roles, he has been involved in organisational transformation, strategic leadership development and business growth initiatives across diverse industries.
Academically, Prof. Madubuko holds a Master’s degree in Management from The New School, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Law from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
He is also a certified Senior Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Registered Organisation Development Consultant, credentials that further underscore his expertise in leadership, governance and human capital development.
Announcing the appointment, United Nigeria Airlines said it was pleased to welcome Prof. Madubuko to its Board as part of its broader efforts to reinforce its governance framework and align board composition with its long-term strategic objectives.
“In our continued efforts to strengthen our corporate governance structure and broaden the membership of our Board in line with our strategic expansion programme, we are pleased to welcome Prof. Madubuko to the Board of United Nigeria Airlines,” the airline stated.
“His breadth of experience, leadership depth, and proven track record in driving transformation make him a valuable addition to the UNA leadership.”
Accepting the appointment, Prof. Madubuko Tochukwu Victor expressed appreciation to the airline’s management and shareholders for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work closely with fellow board members and the management team to advance the airline’s vision.
