LAGOS – Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, the Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has described 2024 as a significant turning point for the agency.

A statement by the media consultant to NIWA on Thursday, said that Oyebamiji, stated this in his goodwill message to the management and staff of the authority, recently.

Oyebamiji stated that despite some challenges the agency faced in the past year, the staff demonstrated resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the authority’s vision and mission.

He explained that together, the authority achieved milestones that had not only strengthened its operations, but had also laid a solid foundation for the future of inland waterways.

He added: “As we stand on the threshold of a new year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey we have embarked upon together and to share a message of hope and inspiration for the year, 2025.

“As we move into 2025, let us carry forward the lessons learned and the successes achieved. This new year present us with an opportunity to build upon our past accomplishments and to strive for even greater heights.

“Our collective efforts have the power to transform the inland waterways sector, enhancing connectivity, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering economic growth.”

He appealed to the staff to embrace the new year with renewed hope, energy, and optimism, stressing that together, the team could continue to innovate, collaborate, and serve the authority with dedication and excellence.

He further encouraged everyone to set ambitious goals for the authority and themselves, while also supporting one another in achieving them.

He hoped that the new year would be filled with hope, progress, and success for NIWA.
