Maureen Tamuno, GMD/CEO of Abuja Investments Company Limited, underlined the significance of establishing the Abuja Film Village (AFV) to boost the creative economy and industry of the nation’s capital.

Tamuno, a former ambassador, shared this insight during a meeting with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and Nollywood industry representatives to discuss collaborating on the project.

The GMD warmly greeted the honored guests, stressing the partnership’s importance in enhancing Abuja’s cultural and economic landscape.

She expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated AICL’s dedication to supporting the creative industry as a crucial element of Abuja’s development strategy.

The Abuja Film Village initiative aims to establish a vibrant center for film production and entertainment in Nigeria. Through the synergy of Nollywood’s creativity and AICL’s investment capabilities, the collaboration seeks to elevate the Nigerian film industry and position Abuja as a top destination for filmmakers and audiences.

Tamuno remarked, “Nollywood has been a beacon of creativity and cultural expression, entertaining millions while driving employment and economic growth. Strategic collaboration and investment will propel this industry to new heights.”

She emphasised that the AFV project aligns with AICL’s vision and discussed leveraging joint efforts to establish a comprehensive hub for film and entertainment in Abuja, benefiting the local economy, creating job opportunities, and positioning the city as a prominent creative hub.

The AGN delegation, led by President Emeka Rollas, expressed eagerness for the partnership, recognising its potential to enhance the film industry’s infrastructure and global recognition. They praised AICL’s role in cultivating a fertile creative environment.

Both parties expressed optimism for future collaborations and pledged to work together to realize this vision and enrich Abuja’s dynamic entertainment sector.
