The All Progressive Congress APC Concern group has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief Judge of the Federation to order for the review of Supreme Court Judgment on Bauchi State Gubernatorial Case for the interest peace, justice and democracy.

The Spokesperson of the group Comrade Abdullahi Dauda made the call on sunday in Bauchi while briefing newsmen at the end of the meeting of the national stakeholders of the group in Bauchi, tagged” Plea for urgent Restoration of Democratic Values and Fair Representation Post Supreme Court Rulings”

Abdullahi said that with respect to the judicial process, there are concerns among various stakeholders about the verdict, pointing out that several aspects of the case raised questions regarding the interpretation of legal precedents, adherence to due process and the overall fairness of the trial.

“It is imperative that we ensure that justice is not only served but is also perceived by the public. In light of the aforementioned concerns, we urge a comprehensive review of the Supreme Court’s judgment on the Bauchi State gubernatorial case. This review is essential to uphold the principles of transparency, fairness and the rule of law”

” We believe that a thorough examination of the case will not only address potential discrepancies but will also reinforce public trust in the judiciary. Our commitment to a just and equitable society requires us to scrutinize legal decisions to safeguard the integrity of our democratic institutions. After all, democracy is about the right of the voters not individuals. For that, we are advocating for a review of this matter, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that justice is served and the democratic process is upheld”

“The actions of APC leaders in Bauchi State have triggered significant doubts about the party’s unwavering commitment to democratic principles. Instances of anti-party activities and questionable legal practices have left us disenchanted, endangering the very foundations of our democratic processes that we, as responsible citizens, have ardently defended.”

Abdullahi expressed their disappointment on President Tunubu alleging that the party witnessed what appears to be a marginalization of the Northern region, particularly Bauchi State, particularly in key appointments and decision-making processes.

“Recent appointments in our state have failed to resonate with the will of the people, sowing a palpable divide in the spirit of unity and inclusivity that is not only integral but imperative to our democratic fabric. We implore your esteemed leadership to reconsider the approach to appointments, ensuring that they authentically mirror the diverse voices and aspirations of our populace.”

“In response to the perceived injustice meted out to our gubernatorial candidates in the recent Supreme Court judgments, we propose a constructive and reconciliatory solution. It is our humble suggestion that all candidates who have borne the brunt of unfair treatment be considered for ministerial or other viable and appropriate appointments.

“This approach will not only recognize their unwavering dedication to public service but also provide them with a platform to represent the interests of the people at the national level.”

“By extending ministerial or other roles to these candidates, we firmly believe it will not only rectify perceived injustices but also contribute substantially to fostering a more inclusive and representative government. This strategic step has the potential to act as a catalyst for healing existing divisions, thereby forging a stronger, united front for the benefit of our state and its citizens”.

“We are aware of politicians exploiting and neglecting the people for personal gains, we reject resorting to violence or property damage. The credit goes to Air Marshal sadiq Baba Abubakar who even as an opposition, instilled the discipline of the values of life and property in us. Bauchi State despite not being labeled as a violent state, continues to strive to champion peace.”

” We seek protection and actualization of our rights through fair representation in government positions, while calling on your support to address the loss of our mandate as we are well-informed about past events.”

Abdullahi said that during the electioneering process, nobody assisted them with president Tinubu campaign in Bauchi state, adding that they mobilized themselves and conducted all the activities single handedly within the state despite all the fierce opposition.

“There are rumours making the rounds that Air Marshal sadique did not support you during the campaigns, that is why he was not considered for any political appointment. If so, may we know who Air Marshal supported because some of us know the discussions we had with him”

” Secondly, there are people in Bauchi whom openly were not with your team, but are now appointees in your cabinet.
May we know what qualifies them to be so considered? The over 43% votes that APC garnered in the Presidential elections are now left in the cold. Appointments are made without recourse to their wellbeing because people that don’t care about us and our wellbeing are being appointed to represent us”

“So far, there has not been anybody appointed in your government that toiled to get those votes for your Excellency, which means that the struggles and commitment of the people of Bauchi state is worthless.”

Abdullahi pleaded for an appointment to see the president to discuss on these grievances of the party amongst other pending issues, saying” we currently feel like the rejected and abandoned children by you.
