Arik Air flight en route from Lagos to Port Harcourt was safely diverted to Benin after the crew reported a loud bang suspected to be from the engine.
According to a statement from the airline, the pilots immediately initiated safety protocols and redirected the aircraft. All 80 passengers on board are safe, and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has begun an investigation into the incident.
