ABUJA – As the year comes to an end, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Akin­wale Abass Disu, has announced plans for a joint security opera­tion involving the police, military, and other agencies to ensure a safe and peaceful festive season in Abuja.

Disu, speaking after a security meeting with FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Friday, revealed that the clearance oper­ations would focus on identified high-risk areas throughout the FCT.

He reassured residents not to panic if they notice increased troop movements during the exer­cise. “This is part of our commit­ment to ensuring Abuja residents have a memorable New Year’s cel­ebration. We are conducting joint patrols and deploying personnel to areas that previously lacked an adequate security presence,” the commissioner stated.
