MAKURDI: Dangote Group has said it would sponsor and also participate in the 2025 Kano International Trade Fair scheduled to hold from Saturday, 22nd November, 2025 and Saturday, 6th December, 2025.
The company which also noted that Kano State is home to one of the large-scale rice mills being developed by the company, stated that it was currently developing other rice milling plants in Jigawa, Zamfara, Niger, Kebbi and Sokoto States.
In a statement by the Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer of the company, Anthony Chiejina, explained that the combined total production capacity of the mills which is worth about 1.5 million tonnes per annum, is part of its efforts at supporting government in its food security drive.
He further stated that in response to the evolving market demand, the company will also be unveiling the new sugar pack sizes of 100 gram and 25-kilogram bag on its Special Day at the Fair.
Chiejina, who said the theme for this yearโs fair, โEmpowering SMEs for Sustainable Growthโ, resonates with the companyโs vision for a sustainable development in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the annual event that is expected to attract over a thousand exhibitors across the globe, would also attract about a hundred organisations, both in Nigeria and outside the country.
Chiejina, explained that, โKano is central to our overall businesses, and it is the hub of commerce, not only in Nigeria, but in Africa. Kano is home to one of the large-scale rice mills being developed by the company.โ
While he observed that the companyโs subsidiaries would dedicate special help desks at the trade fair, the Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer of the company, encouraged the public to use the opportunity to engage with the Group for potential business partnerships.
Meanwhile, the Senior Adviser, Special Project and Strategic Relations to the Dangote Group President, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, explained that through its sponsorship, it aims to empower micro small, and medium enterprises with opportunities to showcase their products, among other economic opportunities.
She said, โThrough our sponsorship of Kano Trade Fair, we seek to empower micro small, and medium enterprises with opportunities to showcase their products, connect with potential partners, and access new markets, ultimately strengthening the nationโs economic growth.โ
On his part, President, Kano Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Ambassador Hassan Usman Darma, said, โWe are expecting around 100 organizations, and over 1,000 exhibitors from Nigeria and abroad.โ
The KACCIMA President, pointed out that this yearโs Trade Fair is unique due to significant improvements, expansion and new structures at the site of the fair, adding that Dangote Group is one of the key sponsors and promoters of the fair.
Darma, further stated that โWe have valued long-standing relationship with Dangote Group. It is our major sponsor. In this yearโs fair, we want to partner with the Dangote Group on SME development, backward integration, and industrial skills transfer.โ
