Israel Afeare, the logistics manager and close associate of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has been thrown into mourning following the death of his father at the age of 71.
Afeare, who is widely known as Israel DMW, confirmed the sad development during a telephone conversation with Vanguard on Saturday.
According to him, his father, Mr. Afeare Eric, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), passed away on March 2 at a hospital in Ibadan after a brief illness.
Speaking about the painful loss, Israel expressed deep sorrow over his father’s passing, describing him as a major source of strength in his life and the backbone of the family. He noted that the family still needed him but accepted that God’s will prevails.
“It is sad losing my father at this time. We still need him with us, but God knows better,” he said.
Israel further paid tribute to his late father, highlighting the important role he played in keeping the family united over the years.
“He was my pillar of strength and was instrumental in making the family an indivisible unit,” he added.
Mr. Afeare Eric, who served in the Nigeria Police Force before retiring as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, is remembered by family members and loved ones as a dedicated father and a respected figure within his community.
The late patriarch is survived by two wives and eight children, who are now left to mourn his passing and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. Messages of condolences have also begun pouring in for Israel DMW from friends, fans, and associates during this difficult time.
