Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has implored the people of Ondo State, particularly Christians, to show love for one another and embrace peace as they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This was contained in his Easter message to the people of the state on Sunday, admonishing them that “as you forgive, the Lord will relieve you of anger, resentment and pain and bring you peace.”
The message signed by by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan reads in parts: “I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Easter in commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ after a glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.
“The message of Easter reminds us of the power of divine love, faith and redemption. Easter also evokes in us the resilience of the human spirit not to give up in the face of seemingly daunting challenges of life.
“I urge you to increase your love for one another rather than hate, and show more patriotic commitment to the development of our State.
“Let us remember that the scriptural emphasis of love has so much relevance for us today as a people more than ever before, and thus contributes towards the peace and development of our State.”
