
Suspected assailants launched an attack on the convoy of renowned Fuji musician, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, on Sunday in Ikire, a town within Osun State’s Irewole Local Government Area.
Reports indicate that the assault took place in broad daylight and involved unidentified individuals who hurled stones and opened fire at vehicles in the convoy. Among the targeted vehicles were a white Hilux truck and a black Hummer SUV.
A widely circulated video captured the chaotic scene, with people yelling in distress. In the background, one voice could be heard saying in Pidgin, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.”
Witnesses who spoke with reporters confirmed that the vehicles sustained visible damage from the assault. Locals expressed alarm over the violent episode, which caused a brief disruption to commercial activities and left residents and commuters in fear.
Pasuma was believed to have been in Osun State for a musical engagement, although specifics surrounding his visit have yet to be verified.
The Osun State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the matter, and it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
