American singer and actor Jamie Foxx has disclosed that he suffered a stroke after a brain hemorrhage that sent him to the hospital in April of last year.
The 56 year old said in a recent Netflix special that he had a severe headache one day and asked for an aspirin, but that he “blacked out for 20 days” before he could take one.
According to his daughter Corinne at the time, he had “had a medical complication.” The Oscar-winning actor claimed that after being admitted to Piedmont Hospital, medical professionals discovered that he had a brain hemorrhage that had caused a stroke.
“It is a mystery. We still do not know exactly what happened to me,” he said.
“April 11, I was having a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin. And I realised quickly that when you are in a medical emergency, your boys do not know what the f**k to do.
“Before I could get the aspirin I went out. I do not remember 20 days.”
Foxx claimed that he was unable to walk and was in a wheelchair when he awoke from the coma.
The musician claimed that although doctors predicted he would fully recover from the operation, “it’s going to be the worst year of his life.”
Foxx claimed that because he was “so dizzy,” his family kept him out of the spotlight. He claimed that his daughter was worried that if people saw his condition, they would make him into an internet meme.
