The dedicated teachers of Abbott Elementary are all set to return to the classrooms of the madcap Philadelphia public school for the fourth run of this Emmy-winning comedy.
As usual, the overworked staff will have to battle on against underfunding, an uncaring school district and a tone-deaf principal, while the Season 4 trailer below reveals that they’ll also have to overcome a ringworm outbreak that threatens to infect the whole building.
While there’s the small matter of finding out what happens next after Janine and Gregory’s long-awaited kiss at the end of Season 3, comedy fans will be also be looking forward to an extra-special crossover episode with another much-loved Philly-set show. Rob McElhenney confirms there’s set to be a collaboration episode featuring characters from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Abbott Elementary Season 4 episode release dates
Season 4 of Abbott Elementary premieres in the US on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ABC and will be available to stream on Hulu the next day. New episodes of the show will air at the same time each week, with the season expected to run for 22 episodes.

You can stream the series on Hulu, but a price hike is on the way. Right now, the service costs $8 a month for the ad-supported version and $18 per month for ad-free. Beginning on Oct. 17, Hulu with ads will be $10 per month or $100 per year, and the ad-free plan will be $19 per month. Hulu Plus Live TV plans, Disney Plus and most Disney bundles will also see an increase.
If you’d rather watch Abbott Elementary live, then you can sign up for a live TV streaming service that offers ABC as part of its channel selection. Providers such as YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV and Sling Blue (in select regions) carry the network and will enable you to watch the live broadcast each Wednesday.
YouTube TV costs $73 per month and includes ABC and unlimited DVR. The service comes with a free trial for new customers with the option to cancel anytime.

Canadian comedy fans will be thrilled to learn that Global is airing the new episodes of Abbott Elementary at the same time they air in the US — that’s 9:30 p.m. ET every Wednesday.

Can I watch Abbott Elementary Season 4 in the UK?
There’s currently no confirmed release date for Season 4 of Quinta Brunson’s comedy in the UK. However, Season 3 episodes appeared on Disney Plus three months after they aired in the US.
Can I watch Abbott Elementary Season 4 in Australia?
It’s a similar story Down Under, with no confirmed air date for the new season in Australia. Previous seasons of the show have landed on Disney Plus, and that’s where we expect this installment to eventually appear.
