In its efforts to alleviate the burden of the families of deceased and injured police officers in the line of duty, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Garba, on Tuesday evening presented cheques totalling N83,102,207.38 to 45 beneficiaries.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Commandโs spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna.
Haruna said, โThe presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries is a transparent demonstration of the Inspector-General of Policeโs commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.โ
โThis gesture is the reinforcement of the Police Force โs commitment and dedication to supporting its officers and their immediate family members.โ
The beneficiaries are deceased police officersโ next of kin and police victims of accidents.
While jubilating and expressing their appreciation, the beneficiaries specifically thanked the IGP and promised to make good use of the money, saying it came at the time it was most needed.
