Ati’gba t’alaye ti da’ye, ko s’omo LASU t’o s’ori buruku (Since the time of Creation, no bonafide LASU product has been rated unfortunate) Prof Olatunji-Bello loves this LASU-customised song to heart and professes it at any given opportunity in a prophetic demeanour.
LAGOS – Even as the Lagos State University (LASU) community members and stakeholders still bask in the euphoria of victorious joy for conveying a basket of medals and still counting, this resilient, stubborn-achiever of a citadel of academic excellence has been ranked again as the Best State University in Nigeria.
This latest ranking has been released by AD Scientific Index Ranking.
It is irrisistibiy note worthy that for the third consecutive year, LASU has maintained this status to the envy of it contemporaries in the comity of Nigerian Ivory Towers.
Diligent followers of developments in this fountain of knowledge will recall that in the 2024 universities’ ranking released recently, the Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello-piloted institution emerged the second most sought-after university by admission seekers.

Not only that, LASU was rated the best among state universities, the 10th best among 174 public universities and the 12th best overall among 237 ranked universities in Nigeria.
The latest ranking reinforces the institution’s place as one of the top research hubs in the country, a credence to the efforts of the university administration’s drive to promote research culture in the university.
In a related development, five professors from the College of Medicine of the University (LASUCOM) have made it to the list of the latest Stanford Ranking of the Top 2% Scientists in Nigeria.
The scientists include Prof. Adejuwon A. ADENEYE (Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics & Toxicology, who was ranked number 157), Prof. Idowu O.
