The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone B (South-South) has marked a pivotal moment in its history by electing Comrade Michael Emmanuel Iwara as the new Coordinator and other elected executives.
The keenly contested election that was held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the College of Education, Warri, Delta State, drew representatives from across the South-South region.
Comrade Iwara, who hails from Cross River State, emerged as the chosen leader in a groundbreaking election that underscored unity and democratic participation within NANS.
Delegates from all six states of the South-South geopolitical zone were present to cast their votes, alongside legitimate Student Union Government (SUG) presidents, who affirmed the electoral process as transparent and inclusive.
The convention was also graced by the presence of the NANS National President, Comrade Lucky Omonefe, underscoring the importance of the election to the larger student movement in Nigeria.
