*Nigeria* *African Adornments* Edo people are the people of Benin City, the heart of the ancient Kingdom of Benin and situated in Southern Nigeria. Edo women are noted for their glamorous hairstyle worn for special occasions and by wives of the Oba (King) of Benin.
The hairstyle known as Eto-Okuku, which simply means hairstyle made into a bun shape. The hair is swept up into a high bun and coral beads and/or extentions are then sewn in to create the form of a crown.
It is also known as the ‘ chicken beak hairstyle’.
