ABUJA – The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has revealed plans to erect its new headquarters, to be named NIPR House, in Abuja.
Heading the task team for the project, NIPR Vice President, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, emphasised the importance of ensuring that the facility adheres to international standards of design and functionality.
Crafted as a world-class establishment, the cutting-edge complex is slated to serve as the Institute’s National Secretariat by December 2025.
Additionally, it will accommodate the NIPR Television and the Abuja liaison office of the proposed University of Public Relations and Leadership, a pioneering institution backed by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.
Positioned within the esteemed Radio House complex in Abuja’s Central Business District, which also houses the office of the Minister of Information and National Orientation and the headquarters of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the new NIPR House underscores the Institute’s dedication to excellence and professionalism.
During the virtual inauguration of the task team, NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, hailed the project as a historic milestone for the Institute.
“This presents a unique opportunity to establish a lasting legacy for the NIPR. I have complete confidence in this team to deliver a landmark headquarters that mirrors the Institute’s high standards and values,”he remarked.
Dr. Neliaku expressed deep appreciation to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for spearheading the initiative, as well as to technical partners Mesotho Group of Companies and SNECOU Group for their unwavering dedication.
He extended special acknowledgment to Dr. Mohammed Balama, Director-General of FRCN, and his management team for their steadfast collaboration and support.
In his acceptance speech, task team chair Professor Dandaura hailed the project as a defining moment for the NIPR, pledging his team’s unwavering commitment to its successful realisation.
“The progress we’ve achieved thus far is promising, and we are confident that this will translate into tangible outcomes. This headquarters will epitomise the professionalism and excellence for which the NIPR is renowned,”he affirmed.
He also disclosed that the project would officially commence with a flag-off ceremony led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation in the final week of January 2025.
