LAGOS – Chairman, United Airline Limited, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, has described the just concluded 2022 National Patron Unity Cup (NPUC) that had members of Ndigboamaka Progressive Market Association compete for honours as tip of iceberg.
Okonkwo stated this while reacting to the success and massive turn-out recorded at this year’s edition which saw Refrigirator and Air-Condition Dealers Association (RADA FC) take home the trophy on Saturday, November 19, at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Lagos.
Having powered the tourney with the attention of estwhile Super Eagles’ duo of Daniel Amokachi and Kanu Nwankwo, the business mogul turned philanthropist promised to do more using soccer to promote unity among traders.
“I’m impressed with what I have seen so far and I can tell you this is just the beginning. There are better plans in the offing ahead next edition. We’re going to take this to the next level.
“I give kudos to all members of the association and I pray the unity they’ve built won’t collapse. This is Nigeria and we’ve seen soccer as a tool of building unity among citizens. I urge everyone to keep fingers crossed as we make this bigger come next year,” he assured.
