Addressing his members, the state Chairman of the union, Comrade Ademola Odudu warned that any unit chairman of the union in whose domain protest holds would be sacked.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, had through his Special Adviser(Union Matters), Comrade Bola Taiwo, charged members of the union and residents of the state against participating in proposed violent protest against President Bola Tinubu-led government.

In a peace meeting held with members of the union in Akure on Thursday, which was attended by three former chairmen of NURTW including Oba Solomon Adejayan, Chief Oladutele Obayoriade and Com. Jacob Adebo(Idajo), Governor Aiyedatiwa cautioned that the protest would lead to another round of destruction of public and private properties in the state like during the EndSARS protest.was facilitated by Governor Aiyedatiwa.

He said peaceful protest isn’t a bad action, but the latest planned protest was targeted at destroying lives and properties considering the recent Kenyan experience and EndSars protest.

Comrade Taiwo said: “During the EndSARS protest, a lot of properties were destroyed in this nation, and we look at what is happening in Kenya, it is devastating. That is why we are engaging the members of the NURTW that we don’t want that here.

“Mr. Governor has given a directive that there should not be any protest that will lead to violence in the state, and that is why we are appealing to everyone in the state not to join the planned protest.”

The NURTW chairman, Ademola Odudu said: “We have addressed all our members not to join the protest that could lead to any breaking of laws and orders because we are not a troublemakers, we are not thugs and we are very responsible.

“The protest will destabilise our constitutional government and we don’t want that in Ondo State, we have realized that the planned protest is to destabilize the government of President Bola Tinubu.

“In Ondo State, for instance, we have a good governor and he is a man of peace, who is making sure that we have peace in the state and we have addressed all our members not to be involved in the protest.

“And whoever is caught among the members of the NURTW who participate in the planned protest will be sanctioned accordingly.”
