AKURE – As the date for election campaign draws bearer, the candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) in Ondo State, Olugbenga Edema, on Thursday appointed Israel Ayeni as his official spokesman of the campaign organisation.
According to a statement, Edema who congratulated Ayeni on his new role, said he confident that Ayeni’s abilities would enhance the party’s communication strategy during the electioneering campaign.
The NNPP standard bearer said: “Israel Oluwatosin Ayeni brings a wealth of experience and creativity to our team. His track record in political mobilisation and youth leadership is commendable and I am confident that he will excel in this new role.
“As we approach the November 16 election, it is crucial that we communicate our vision and policies effectively to the people of Ondo State.
“With Ayeni on board, I am certain that we will be able to engage more meaningfully with our electorate and convey our message of progress and development.”
It would be recalled that before the emergence of Edema as the governorship candidate of NNPP, Ayeni was the placeholder for the governorship ticket of the party.
Ayeni’s appointment was hinged on his wealth of experience and active involvement in various political and youth mobilisation roles in the party.
Edema, therefore, emphasised that Ayeni was well positioned as a valuable asset to the campaign of NNPP as the state prepares for the November 16, 2024 gubernatorial poll.

According to the standard bearer of NNPC, the involvement of youth in politics is important.
He said: “Our youths are the backbone of our society, and it is essential that they are actively involved in the political process.
“Ayeni’s appointment is a testament to our commitment to empowering young leaders and fostering a new generation of political activists.”
Ayeni was a one time General Secretary of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for the Ondo State Chapter, where he played a pivotal role in coordinating activities among all registered political parties in the state.
He had also served as the National Chairman of the Committee of Young Aspirant Mobilisation (COYAM), the State Youth Representative for the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) in Ondo State, and the South-West Regional Chairman of the Intellectual Young Leaders Network (IYLN).
