An Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan On Tuesday placed Mr Latunde Alayemi, 50, and Mr Ayoola Alayemi, 54, under detention in a correctional facility due to their suspected involvement in the death of a 49-year-old man.
The two, whose addresses were withheld, were accused of murder and conspiracy. According to NAN, the defendants’ plea was rejected by Magistrate Mrs. Kausarat Ayofe due to a lack of jurisdiction.
In order to receive legal counsel, Ayofe ordered the police to send the case file back to the Director of Public Prosecution, or DPP. She then postponed the case’s mention until September 2.
The defendants committed the offenses in the Moniya neighborhood of Ibadan on June 23 at around 12.45 a.m., according to the prosecutor, Insp. Toyin Ibrahim, who testified in court.
Ibrahim claimed that by matching David Olagoke, 49, all over his body, the defendants had illegally caused his death.
According to him, the offenses were under Oyo State’s 2000 Criminal Laws, Sections 516 and 324.
