Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL) has bagged the best private security outfit award in Nigeria at the just concluded New Telegraph Newspaper Awards 2024 held in Lagos.
Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL) is a privately owned indigenous security company owned by Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo headquartered in Warri. It has been providing risk management, preventive and protective security services over the fight against oil theft in Nigeria.
Presenting the award, Mrs. Juliet Bunah, Editor, New Telegraph Newspaper applauded the security outfit saying that they picked Tantita for the award over four others nominated.
Accordng to her, โbefore our Board and panel of judges decided that we give the award to Tantita, we have looked at what the security company is doing in the Niger Delta. We know the problem, we heard them, oil theft and everything.
โIt was not just Tantita Security Services that we picked, we had other four nominations for Security Company Of The Year category, but after looking at what Tantita Security Services Ltd. has been doing, our Board of Editors and Panel of judges decided that Tantita merit the award
โAwarding Tantita as the Security Company Of The Year means that it came first for us among other security companies in Nigeria.โ
Receiving the award on behalf of Tantita Security Services Ltd, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, Media Consultant, Tantita Security Services expressed gratitude to the newspaper over the award and promised to work harder, making sure Nigeria produces 2million barrel of crude oil per day.
Accordng to Dr. Bebenimibo, โI must say that New Telegraph Newspaper does not make mistake in selecting Tantita Security Services as the best security company of the year because when this company was contracted to prevent surveillance for our critical national assets in the Niger Delta Region as regards crude oil, the company hit the ground running immediately and results were seen.
โFrom August 2022, Tantita Security company has made so many revelations and discoveries in our oil sector that hitherto were not known. Particularly, tapping of major pipelines by miscreants, refract in our country and siphon petroleum products from those pipelines. So Tantita went after them and expose them.
โIn the first quarter of our job, we discovered over 400 tap points of major pipelines in Nigeria, so the award is well received and weโre proud to be recognised as the best security company of the year.
โReward for hardwork is more work, so Tantita has promised to do more this year. Our goal is to make sure that Nigeria produces two million barrels of crude oil per day in the country.
โCertainly, Tantita is providing a support job, so itโs our call to our governors in the Niger Delta region, major oil industry players and the military should give us the opportunity to work together in synergy to achieve the goal that is set out to achieve,โ he said.
In his comments, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)also commended Tantita Services, adding that oil production has gone up, he stressed that โtheyโre really adding valueโ.
Accordng to Dakuku, โTantita Security was given an award, I also think it is a public acknowledgement of the things theyโre doing, we celebrate them and encourage them to do more.
โWeโre at a challenging period in the life of our nation, challenge of all fronts, challenges in the area of insecurity, the economy and even social cognition. And so, we need all hands on deck, we need everybody to think outside the box and bring whatever value they can bring to the table, in that way, we will prosper as a nation, we will be stronger and will be more united.
โFor Tantita, I have not had the opportunity to access the situation properly, but I know that they are adding a lot of value, so I congratulate them. Theyโre really adding value. You can see the oil production has gone up, theft has reduced, and indeed, thatโs what we need as a country.
โYou canโt ignore the little contribution theyโre making in that area.โ He added.
