The UK’s Imafidon family – which originally hails from Nigeria – is an intellectual power house like no other: Dr. Chris Imafidon and his wife Ann have raised a faculty’s worth of prodigies whose accomplishments are nothing short of extraordinary.
Their 12-year-old twins Peter and Paula became the youngest children in the UK to attend high school – at the age of just nine – and excelled by passing A/AS-level maths exams. Their brilliance doesn’t end there: Peter is also a champion sprinter in the 100m and 400m relays, while Paula shines as a county rugby champ.
Their older sister – Anne-Marie Imafidon (the eldest of the siblings) – achieved remarkable feats early on, graduating high school at just ten years old and obtaining her master’s degree from Oxford University at 17. She also co-founded Stemettes, empowering thousands of girls to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
The next eldest, Christiana Imafidon, was awarded a mathematics prize at the age of nine, wrote a math manual and became an influential figure in financial technology.
Samantha, the very youngest sibling, passed high school-level maths exams at six.
The Imafidons are possibly the UK’s brightest family. Both parents immigrated from Edo state, Nigeria. Britain is lucky to have them – and so many other wonderful migrant and minority families, don’t you think?
