The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun next governorship poll, Bola Oyebamiji on Saturday participated in the presidential primary of the party held across the 332 wards in the state.
Oyetola, who participated in the exercise at his Iragbiji Ward 1, was joined by a large crowd of party supporters.
The governorship candidate of the party, Oyebamiji, who joined other party members, participated in the exercise at Ikire Ward 9, where members affirmed President Bola Tinubu as the candidate of the party in the 2027 presidential poll.
Monitoring the exercise in Osogbo, Osun State capital, at Ward 5, Olorunda local government, the exercise was held in a peaceful atmosphere.
Across the wards monitored in Osogbo and Olorunda local government areas, Renewed Hope Ambassadors served as ward agents for President Tinubu.
The second presidential aspirant, Stanley Osifo, did not have an agent in most of the wards within Osogbo as at the time our correspondent was monitoring the primary moved round the metropolis.
Speaking with journalists on the exercise, the Osun Renewed Hope Ambassador, Sunday Akere, said the exercise was held under a peaceful atmosphere across the state.
“The Presidential Primary held in Osun State today went on smoothly without any crisis. The materials from the primary election committee were transported to the various local government and that wards on time.
“All party members mobilised to all the 332 wards to queue for our president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the candidate of the party for 2027 election. The structure of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors across the wards and Local Government work as agent at various levels.
“The collation at the state level is been done by the leader of the party, as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. He is the State Collation Officer. We have just finished collation of result at own local government in Boluwaduro council.
“I am heading towards Osogbo to go and join other local government coordinators for the compilation of the result before the state collation officer present it to Abuja,” Akere said.
On his expectations after the primary, ex-Osun Information Commissioner added, “The overwhelming members of the party have shown their belief and loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and they are resolved that he should continue in the second term to lead us to promise land.”
