Toke Makinwa unveils daughter’s face on first birthday

Media personality Toke Makinwa has unveiled the face of her daughter, Yakira Eliana, for the first time as the child marked her first birthday.

The broadcaster shared a series of photos on Instagram on Friday, introducing her daughter to the public with an emotional message celebrating the milestone.

“The best part of my story, finally yours to meet,” she wrote.

Makinwa described Yakira as her “precious answered prayer,” “greatest love” and “greatest blessing,” adding that after one year, she was ready to share “a little piece of my heaven with the world.”

Reflecting on her journey to motherhood, she wrote, “God can be trusted, God is real,” saying she had encountered “El-roi,” the God who sees, while wishing her daughter a happy first birthday.

The media personality also showered the toddler with affectionate nicknames, including “YaYa,” “Ya Pom Pom,” “Ya mama,” and “my little bum bum.”

Makinwa announced her pregnancy in August 2025, describing it as “the biggest project” of her life and later welcomed Yakira the same month. Her pregnancy attracted widespread public attention, with some social media users questioning the identity of her baby’s father because she was not publicly known to be in a relationship, while others speculated about the authenticity of her baby bump. She, however, went on to announce the birth of her daughter, describing the child as her miracle and an answered prayer.
