Will Stevens, the Consul General, United States of America Consulate, Lagos, has revealed his favourite Nigerian Afrobeats artist.
In a recent interview with comedian Basketmouth, the Consul General was asked to name his favourite Afrobeats artiste and without hesitation, he mentioned Tems.
He praised Tems’ unique voice, admitting that he “got a little big of crunch” listening to her.
Stevens said, “My favourite Afrobeats artist? It got to be Tems. That voice… I got a little bit of a crunch just listening to her. And on the Black Panther, when she sings ‘No Woman, No Cry’ by Bob Marley. She is incredible.”
The Consul General said aside from Tems, he also listens to other Afrobeats artists such as Asake, Fireboy, Davido and more.
“I have met a bunch of Nigerian artists; Fireboy, Asake, Davido. I haven’t met Burna Boy but they are great guys. Wonderful people. I know Nigerian artistes and I jam to them a little bit. But Tems is the one that I can just tune in anytime,” he added.
