A revolutionary service designed to help insurance firms and organisations providing cover for vehicle owners to improve customer relations has been introduced into the Nigerian automobile market. The innovative service, known as ‘vehicle history report’, was recently unveiled by VehicleCheck, an international car database company based in Canberra, Australia.
VehicleCheck’s Executive Vice President for the United States, Canada, and Africa, Mr Idowu Banjo, explained that this concept aims to ensure the proper valuation of vehicles in instances of compensation and purchase by end users. According to Mr Banjo, both individual users and businesses like insurance firms can input the vehicle identification number (VIN) and follow specific instructions on the platform to obtain a detailed history of any automobile.
He highlighted that this comprehensive information would equip insurance firms with all the relevant details about a vehicle, including sales, accident, and theft records, before deciding to provide cover.
“To obtain a vehicle history report, users need to visit vehiclechecks.net and enter the VIN of the vehicle, as well as their email and phone number. Our system gathers information from various sources and compiles a detailed report, which can be accessed instantly.
“Insurance companies will find this service very useful because it provides everything they need to know about a vehicle before assigning a value.
“The system will also serve as a record source for the industry, helping many avoid potentially bad business decisions.
