The Yobe State Government has announced plans to launch the Journalism Community Continuing Education (JCCE) Programme, aimed at enhancing the skills of working journalists in the state. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that media practitioners provide high-quality news content.
The programme will offer admission to interested media practitioners, providing them with opportunities to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Information, and Culture will partner with organizations such as MC Arthur and the World Bank to achieve the programme’s objectives.
The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, revealed this information during the opening remarks of a three-day workshop for members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). According to him as part of the programme’s preparations, the Ministry is organizing a meeting with NUJ chapels, media chief executives, and chapel leadership across the state.
The JCCE Programme is expected to enhance the capacity of journalists in Yobe State, enabling them to provide high-quality news content that meets international standards. By investing in the development of media practitioners, the Yobe State Government demonstrates its commitment to promoting a well-informed and engaged citizenry.
