Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has commenced the construction of a Central Ultra-Modern Motor Park in Gusau, the state capital, pledging that the project will create jobs and boost the stateโs economy.
The governor announced this at the unveiling ceremony held on Monday along the Sokoto-Zaria Road.
A statement by the governorโs spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, highlighted that the motor park will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including parking spaces, rest areas for drivers, advanced security installations, and an organised ticketing system.
โThis initiative will enhance security, boost revenue generation, and enable our city to compete favourably with others across the country,โ the governor said in the statement.
โOther essential components of this project include designated departure lines, a police outpost, a clinic, a fire brigade station, a mosque, an administrative block, a union office, public conveniences, a park hotel, a loading bay, a shopping mall, a travellersโ terminal, a waste disposal unit, a warehouse, a workshop, and a car wash area,โ the statement added.
The construction phase is expected to employ both skilled and unskilled workers, while the operational park will serve as a hub for commercial activities, benefiting local entrepreneurs and service providers.
โBeyond its economic impact, this initiative also beautifies our state capital, aligning with our broader vision of creating a modern, vibrant, and liveable environment for our people.
