A Chicago Love Story : Year V – Part l
P : To five years of genuine love and partnership. There was no blueprint for what an ideal or healthy relationship should look like between two black men, for either us growing up. We’ve created our own blueprint while navigating through life together, from 2019, to present day. Resilience, solidarity, vitality, compassion and devotion, are five words I’d use to describe the last five years of our relationship. As men, we have grown immensely, in various aspects of our individual and joint lives. We’ve experienced successes, failures, ups, downs, high moments, low moments, and through it all, our connection, our friendship and our support for the one another has remained consistent. It’s essential that as partners, we continue to show up for and properly love each other. Our foundation is rooted in strength, intimacy, intention, self-awareness and perseverance.
