The National President of Maryhill High School, Ado Ekiti Old Students Association, Mr Dare Daramola, has lauded Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for his commitment to boosting food production and security in the state.
Daramola also hailed the governor for his interventions to address the infrastructure deficit in the state and as well payment of outstanding gratuities of retired public servants.
The alumni president, in a statement in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Thursday, lauded Oyebanji’s achievements, saying, “Noteworthy is the especial passion of the governor for food production, which has earned the state the recognition as a pilot state for agricultural revolution being championed by the Federal Government for the southwest states.
“This will not only go a long way in providing food for the populace but also engage the teeming youths.”
He lauded the transformation that the state capital and other parts of the state had witnessed in the area of infrastructure development, saying, “Anyone coming to Ado Ekiti will agree with me that the ancient town can be described as the fastest-growing state capital in the country”.
The Alumni president admonished the governor not to relent on his efforts at facilitating a good road network across the three senatorial districts of Ekiti State.
He said, “The rate of infrastructural interventions across the state is a great encouragement and confirmation that the electorate picked the right choice, having expressed confidence in his ability as a public servant whose contributions had been noticed in the governance of the state.
Daramola, who said Oyebanji positively impacted the citizenry by making the common man the key point of administration, lauded the governor for payment of outstanding gratuities of retired public servants, which he said had become a reference point in the country.
He said, “As of today, our listening and proactive governor has committed not less than N10bn to payment of pension and gratuities. Now imagine if successive administrations had been showing similar commitments to the sector, by now Oyebanji would be working on other sectors of the economy on a larger scale.”
The Alumni president, who said Oyebanji had rekindled people’s hope in democracy, canvassed residents’ sustained support for the governor “to continue the good works in the interest of the generality of the people of Ekiti state.
“Voting Oyebanji for another term in office will enable him to consolidate on the various achievements being recorded in the state.”
