IBADAN – A tech expert, Mr Muyiwa Bamgbose has urged Nigerians and Federal government to embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in conducting examinations across the country.
He noted that ICT would reduce incidence of examination malpractice, promote transparency, and make the process more efficient, saying the use of ICT in examinations would enable government to conduct examinations simultaneously across the nation.
Speaking in Ibadan during Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Recruitment CBT examination for applicants, Bamgbose, a consultant with TESCOM said use of ICT in examinations would enable government to release results quickly, without any delay, noting that this would reduce the stress and anxiety associated with waiting for examination results.
According to him, by embracing ICT, government will address challenges facing the education sector and improve quality of education in the country.
He said, “We have to go for CBT, there should be digital literacy in everyone, we have to grow the economy through ICT, we need to make the environment friendly for small scale business which is the highest employers of labour in the world.”

In his remark, TESCOM chairman, Pastor Akinade Alamu lauded conduct of the exercise, adding that the recruitment was to filled teaching and non-teaching vacancies in secondary schools across the state.

Meanwhile, some of the applicants urged the state government to decentralised the CBT examination in case of other time, to reduce stress for those coming from far away from the state capital.
