AKURE – The cause of the death of one Eric and his lover in their new apartment at Ayeyemi area of Ondo City has remained obscure.
The lovers were said to have been found in a position that showed that they were having canal knowledge of one another when they both died.
The source of the couple’s death could not be ascertained but there have been some unconfirmed conjectures that they were electrocuted.
On Thursday, a source claimed that Eric, a middle-aged man, was in his apartment with his girlfriend while the power generator was running.
Report said that when neither of them picked their calls, it prompted family members to visit and peep through the widow only to discover that both of them were already dead inside.
The concerned neighbours and family members, therefore, broke into the apartment on discovering the couple were dead.
One of the sources recounted: “The generator was running in the premises of their apartment and a phone was seen charging on a socket placed on the bed.
“It may be possible that they had contact with a naked wire, resulting in their electrocution.”
The Police Public Relations Officer for the state Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a Superintendent of Police (SP), who confirmed the incident on Sunday said investigation had commenced into the incident.
She said: “The man and the woman are lovers who were known by both relatives. They died in the room but they were not stuck together.
“We are yet to know the cause but investigation had commenced.”
