Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has paid a visit to elder statesman and former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, at his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Oyebanji, in a post on his LinkedIn account on Saturday, described the meeting as a privilege, noting that Akandeโs wisdom and leadership continue to serve as a guiding light for generations.
โI had the privilege of visiting our highly revered leader, Chief Bisi Akande, at his Ibadan residenceโ, Oyebanji wrote.
He highlighted Akandeโs enduring influence in Nigerian politics, emphasising the importance of engaging with seasoned political figures to draw from their wealth of experience.
โBabaโs wisdom, integrity, and statesmanship continue to inspire generations of leaders, and it was truly enriching to engage him on various issues, especially his well-beingโ, he further stated.

Oyebanji further underscored the need for leaders to balance learning from political elders while also being responsive to the aspirations of the younger generation.
โLearning from seasoned political figures while staying attuned to the aspirations of the younger generation remains a core principle of leadershipโ, he added.
Expressing his gratitude for the time spent with Akande, Oyebanji described the elder statesmanโfondly referred to as โBaba Omo Kekekeโโas a reservoir of invaluable insights.
โI am grateful for the time spent with Baba Akande (who is fondly called Baba Omo Kekeke) and for his invaluable insights,โ he concluded.
